Clayton & Heather - June 22, 2013 - Mercer Island Wedding Photographer

When I look through Heather & Clayton's wedding images, I just smile. I smile because not only are they so perfect for each other but I remember doing photos at sunset and Clayton's words to me. We were doing a few couple's portraits and I commented on how big and genuine he was smiling. His response, "How can you not smile so big when you're this happy?" It truly touched my heart and I will always remember those words.

One really cool part about Heather's gorgeous dress is that she wore an Alfred Angelo Disney Bridal dress!!

At the Mercer Island Community Center, there's this long, windy gravel trail that leads up to this plateau that overlooks the city and sound. Only downfall, it was a VERY warm June day and there was no shade anywhere in sight!

Because of no shade, we headed directly next door to Luther Burbank Park. Such an awesome park to do portraits!

This was totally Heather and her girl's idea! Turned out perfect to match their personalities!
Another awesome fact about their wedding was their floral. They used Art of Floral and Jamie is someone that I've done weddings with in the past. They never disappoint and this time, she truly outdid herself! Gorgeous!!

 Mazel Tov!

One of the highlights of the day. Clayton was sure proud of marrying his best friend and having a beautiful wife!

Congratulations again you two! Thank you for allowing me to be apart of your amazing day and capturing your moments to reminisce about this day for the rest of your years.

Kimsath & Angela // Rainy Day Perfection // April 13, 2013 // Tacoma Wedding Photographer

When I first met Kimsath and Angela it was from them being referred from a past couple who's wedding I photographed in 2010 and we found out we went to the same high school. What a small world!

The morning of the wedding, there were scattered clouds but the sun was shining. Pretty typical for an April day. The forecast had called for rain and I'd been watching it all week, in hopes that it would be wrong. This is Washington after all! I arrived down to the Silver Cloud Inn in Tacoma to meet with Angela and the girls, where we did some bridal portraits and a few getting ready pictures. Soon after, a stretch limo pulls up with Kimsath inside and the rain is still holding out for us. We quickly did a first look between the two and get everyone into the limo to do portraits down the street at the Japanese Garden. Once there, the rain started. It was pouring buckets of rain on us and randomly would have a 2-3 minute break with sunshine before the rain started back up. The wedding party rocked their portraits despite the horrid weather and Kimsath & Angela were troopers!

After portraits, we went to the new STAR Center in Tacoma, WA for their ceremony and reception. Beautiful ceremony performed by Kimsath's family sponsor and then a beautiful reception that truly displayed their love for one another.

Congratulations you two and thank you for allowing me to be a part of your beautiful day!

Instead of a unity candle or sand ceremony, they opted to paint bible verses that they will hang in their home as a reminder of their vows to each other.
